Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, was among 150 individuals arrested during a late-night raid conducted by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at a nightclub in Lagos.
The operation, which took place around 3 a.m. on Sunday, saw NDLEA officials storm Proxy Nightclub on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, following intelligence reports of a suspected drug-related party.
Among those apprehended was popular Lagos socialite Mike Nwogu, better known as Pretty Mike.
Tuoyo, who participated in the BBNaija Pepper Dem edition, took to his Instagram Story to recount his experience, claiming he was detained alongside several others despite committing no offence.
He revealed that all the arrested individuals were taken to the NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi, where they were ordered to sit on the floor and had their phones confiscated.
Expressing frustration, Tuoyo described the incident as unjust, writing:
“I have been arrested by the NDLEA from a nightclub in Lagos for basically nothing at all since around 4 a.m. They made us sit down like criminals. We are over 150 people here at NDLEA headquarters, Ikoyi. We didn’t commit any crime. They came with guns into the club and told everyone to lie down. They want to take our phones now this is the height of injustice.”
Confirming the operation, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said the raid followed intelligence gathered by undercover officers who monitored the event from 11 p.m. on Saturday before executing the operation.
Babafemi disclosed that several illegal substances, including cannabis (loud) and nitrous oxide (laughing gas), were recovered from the venue.
He added that all individuals present at the nightclub, including the owner, were taken into custody for questioning and further investigation.
