BBNaija S10: Kayikunmi Reacts to Faith’s Disqualification, Blames ‘Village People’ for Lost Prizes

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Kayikunmi has reacted to the shocking disqualification of Season 10 contestant Faith, blaming supernatural forces — often humorously referred to as “village people” — for the turn of events.

Faith was disqualified from the ongoing Big Brother Naija Season 10 reality show on Thursday following a physical altercation with fellow housemate Sultana, which resulted in visible injuries. The decision was announced during an emergency gathering in the house, where Big Brother (Biggie) cited a violation of the show’s rules on physical violence and ordered Faith’s immediate removal.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the incident, Kayikunmi expressed disbelief and lamented the heavy price Faith would pay for his actions, writing:

“So all the task wins and car gone!? 🙆🏾‍♂️💔. Village people?? #BigBrotherNaijaS10 #BBNaijaS10.”

All Prizes Forfeited

According to the official rules of Big Brother Naija, any housemate who is disqualified from the competition forfeits all winnings — including cash rewards, brand endorsements, and physical prizes such as cars or electronics. Faith, who had emerged as a top contender in various tasks, had racked up significant winnings prior to the incident.

His disqualification has sent shockwaves across the BBNaija fandom, sparking debates and emotional reactions from fans and former housemates alike.

Royal Prayers, Dashed Hopes

Faith’s disqualification also struck a deep chord in his hometown. In a video that surfaced online before the incident, Oba Adewale, a traditional ruler from Faith’s village in Ilesa, was seen praying for his victory and urging locals to rally behind the 25-year-old.

“The Oba👑 has prayed for Dr. Faith and the youths are out to campaign and vote for him. The Adewale family with the support of ‘Faithfuls’ in Ilesa are out to gather votes,” the video’s caption read.

That dream has now been cut short.

Social Media Reactions: Mixed Feelings and Memes

Faith’s exit triggered a flood of reactions on social media, with the hashtag #FaithDisqualified trending within hours. While some expressed sympathy, others mocked the incident — many referencing Kayikunmi’s own infamous moment from his season.

Here’s a snapshot of notable reactions:

  • @Msmenalicious: “Didn’t you say people should vote for him after the altercation?”

  • @Donhoney771: “You no suppose talk at all sef 😂😂😂 you wey go house go suck breast for one week come house 😂.”

  • @BernardDive: “I’m the happiest person on earth. First male housemate to be disqualified in BBNaija history 😜.”

  • @Mss_malia: “Omo serious village people ooo liiikeee na helicopter dey use follow am 😂 he too do, abeg he deserves it.”

Still, others saw a deeper message in the backlash:

  • @RukieCindy: “The majority of Nigerians who are happy about Faith’s disqualification don’t care about violence. They just hate seeing someone win.”

  • @Poshestm_b: “Faith worked hard, but village people worked harder.”

Meanwhile: Imisi’s Fans Reenact ‘Omo Ghetto’ Scene

As the show nears its finale, other fan bases are ramping up their campaigns. Supporters of housemate Imisi went viral recently after reenacting a scene from the popular Nollywood film Omo Ghetto, attracting widespread attention for their creativity and street-style mobilisation.

What’s Next for Faith?

While it remains to be seen how Faith will handle life after disqualification, his journey — once filled with promise — serves as a cautionary tale about the stakes and standards of reality TV.

And for Kayikunmi? His humorous jab at “village people” may have gone viral, but it also served as a reminder that in the Big Brother house, one misstep can cost everything.
