Nigerian technology and infrastructure company Daris Tele Limited has pledged full support to the new executive leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), affirming its continued commitment to advancing local content, innovation, and strategic collaboration in the oil and gas sector.

In a statement issued by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Dare Olatunde, Daris Tele congratulated the newly appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Emeka Okonkwo, and his management team on their appointments, describing the leadership transition as a “critical moment for transformation” within Nigeria’s energy sector.

“The appointment of Engr. Okonkwo and his team marks a new chapter for the NNPC, and Daris Tele stands ready to contribute meaningfully to its success,” said Dr. Olatunde. “As a Nigerian company committed to technological advancement and operational excellence, we are aligned with NNPC’s renewed vision for a globally competitive, transparent, and digitally driven energy enterprise.”

Commitment to Collaboration

Daris Tele, which has worked with both public and private sector entities in telecoms, ICT infrastructure, and energy services, emphasized its willingness to expand its strategic partnerships with NNPC Ltd., particularly in areas such as digital infrastructure, data management, pipeline security, and smart energy solutions.

According to the company, such partnerships will help position NNPC Ltd. as not only Africa’s leading energy company but also a model for innovation and corporate governance across the continent.

“We are witnessing a shift in how national energy companies operate. Digitalization, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems will define the next phase of competitiveness. We believe that NNPC Ltd. is on the right path, and we are eager to support this journey,” the statement added.

A New Era for NNPC Ltd.

The recent leadership reshuffle at NNPC Ltd. is part of a broader reform agenda initiated under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), which seeks to commercialize the national oil company and align it with global standards. The new leadership is expected to focus on transparency, operational efficiency, and increased investment in upstream and downstream sectors.

Industry analysts see the support of indigenous firms like Daris Tele as crucial to achieving these goals.

Experts say that robust collaboration between NNPC Ltd. and technologically proficient Nigerian companies will enhance value creation, reduce dependence on foreign contractors, and boost employment across key sectors.

Driving Local Content

Daris Tele also reaffirmed its dedication to local capacity building through training, research, and support for young engineers. The company said its support for NNPC Ltd. will extend beyond contracts and technical services to include thought leadership and policy advocacy aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s energy independence.

“We believe that empowering Nigerian talent and leveraging homegrown solutions will be central to the success of our national energy ambitions,” Dr. Olatunde noted.

As NNPC Ltd. begins a new chapter under fresh leadership, support from firms like Daris Tele signals growing confidence in the company’s future and the continued push for Nigerian-led transformation in the energy space.
