Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Shallipopi, born Crown Uzama, has once again stirred excitement among fans with hints of fresh music on the way.
The Benin City-born star took to X on Tuesday, sharing a photo of himself in the studio while enjoying a plate of jollof rice. He simply captioned the post, “New music Friday jorrrrrrrr”, sparking speculation that another release is imminent.
Fans have already begun guessing whether the relaxed vibe of the post might reflect the sound or theme of his upcoming track.
Shallipopi shot to fame in 2023 with his viral hit “Elon Musk”, which dominated Nigeria’s Apple Music Top 100 and firmly established him as one of Afrobeats’ brightest new acts. Since then, he has delivered two chart-topping projects—“Presido La Pluto” and “Shakespopi”—with standout singles like “ASAP” reaching number one on the TurnTable Top 100.
In 2025, he has continued his winning streak with “Laho”, released in March, followed by “Laho II”, a star-studded remix featuring Burna Boy and ODUMODUBLVCK, in April. Both tracks further cemented his influence in the Nigerian music scene and expanded his growing fanbase.
Now, with his latest teaser, anticipation is high among the Plutomaniacs, as fans speculate about the sound, collaborators, and direction of his next release. From sharing freestyles on TikTok to becoming a household name in Afrobeats, Shallipopi’s rapid rise shows no signs of slowing down.
