Former Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye, has officially called time on his professional football career.
Ideye shared the announcement on X on Tuesday, tagging it with (#brownaideideye).
He wrote, “After much thought and consideration with mixed emotions, I’ve decided to retire from professional football.
“I will first like to thank God for the talent and the long career I’ve enjoyed.
“I thank my family and friends for their unwavering love, support and understanding till this day.”
The 36-year-old had an extensive career, playing for clubs across England, Greece, China, Ukraine, and Spain.
Ideye, who earned 28 appearances and netted six goals for the Nigerian national team, was also a member of the squad that lifted the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations trophy in South Africa.
He added that “football will always be a part of my life as I enter my next chapter.”
