Global direct selling company QNET Ltd. is expanding its efforts to empower Nigerian entrepreneurs through its network-based business model, offering alternative income streams as unemployment continues to climb in Africa’s most populous country.
Speaking during a recent media webinar, Ayokunmi Solesi, QNET Nigeria’s General Manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to creating economic opportunities beyond traditional employment.
“We’re here to empower, inspire, and create impact. In a country where job creation is urgent, our focus is to uplift individuals through entrepreneurship,” Solesi said.
QNET enables individuals to become independent representatives marketing its lifestyle, wellness, and personal care products, providing a pathway to business ownership and financial independence.
The webinar also addressed public skepticism and misconceptions about QNET’s operations in Nigeria. Journalists who attended the company’s V-Convention in Malaysia shared their firsthand insights, offering new perspectives.
Precious Igbonwelundu, a senior journalist from The Nation, admitted prior doubts about QNET but said her experience at the global convention revealed a well-structured organization with real products and entrepreneurial value.
“I had my doubts about QNET in Nigeria. But what I saw in Malaysia, thousands of independent business owners and full transparency, changed my view,” she noted.
Attendees visited Quest International University and QNET’s corporate offices in Kuala Lumpur, where they were given access to labs and facilities.
Kayode Bakare, Group Head of Programmes at Rhythm FM, commended the company’s openness in tackling fraud-related concerns and explaining their product lines like Edge Plus and eGuard.
“The scale of VCON, with over 8,000 people present, was beyond anything I’d seen from a direct selling company,” Bakare added.
Veronica Dan-Ikpoyi, a media consultant and moderator of the session, stressed the importance of verified personal experiences in shaping public perception.
Solesi concluded that QNET is committed to ethical business practices, education, and strong compliance measures to support long-term growth for its partners.
“We don’t just want to be known for what we sell, but for how we help people rise,” he said.
