Honourable Dr. Obinna Simon, PhD, popularly known as MC Tagwaye, paid a heartfelt visit to Kabusa Ward in Abuja early Thursday morning to attend the Fidau prayer held in honour of a late member of the Hausa community. The visit was part of his ongoing efforts to stay connected with grassroots communities and to support them during times of grief and transition.

The Fidau prayer, an important Islamic rite conducted on the third, seventh, or fortieth day after a Muslim’s death, brought together family members, religious leaders, and community residents to pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased. Hon. Obinna joined the gathering in offering prayers and extended his personal condolences to the bereaved family.

During the visit, Dr. Obinna expressed sympathy not only to the immediate family but also to the broader Hausa community in the ward. He emphasized the importance of unity, compassion, and spiritual solidarity, especially during periods of mourning.

He was warmly received by key officials of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kabusa Ward, including the Ward Chairman, the Party Secretary, the TCO Women Coordinator, and several ward executives. Their presence reflected both respect for the occasion and support for Dr. Obinna’s continued engagement with the community.

Accompanying him was his Director of Contact and Mobilization, underscoring the structured approach to his outreach efforts. The visit was not just a condolence gesture but also an opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to listening, learning, and standing with the people at all times.

Residents described his visit as not only comforting but also inspiring. Many appreciated the gesture, saying it reflects the kind of leadership that listens, shows up, and truly cares for the people.

MC Tagwaye’s visit to Kabusa Ward reaffirms his strong relationship with the community and his commitment to standing with them—both in times of celebration and sorrow.
