Controversial socialite Sam Larry has publicly addressed the long-standing allegations connecting him to the harassment and alleged assault of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. In a recent interview, Larry insisted that he never physically attacked the artist and maintained that the accusations against him were false.
Recounting a widely circulated incident believed to have fueled the rift between him and Mohbad, Sam Larry explained that he merely confronted the singer over an unpaid debt during a music video shoot, and denied that any violence occurred, despite claims based on a viral video.
“I didn’t threaten Mohbad with boys,” he said. “I only went to the beach to buy something for my child. While there, I saw Mohbad and others shooting a video. I approached him, and some of the beach boys followed me.”
He emphasized that at no point did he lay hands on the late singer.
“When I got to where the shoot was happening, I told Mohbad he wouldn’t leave unless he paid what he owed me. Zlatan held me back and told me I was above that kind of behavior. That was the end of the matter,” he recounted.
Larry further stated that Naira Marley was not present during the altercation and reiterated, “I have never touched Mohbad in my life or attempted to beat him. The police only invited me because of a petition Mohbad submitted, falsely accusing me of destroying his camera and alleging that Elegushi sent boys to kill him.”
It will be recalled that in October 2023 one month after Mohbad’s death both Sam Larry and Naira Marley were arrested in connection with the case but were released on bail after five weeks in detention. In February 2025, a Lagos magistrate court cleared them of any involvement in the singer’s death. Nevertheless, public speculation and accusations persist.
