Grammy winning artist Burna Boy has opened up about the inspiration behind the title of his upcoming album, No Sign of Weakness.
In a video shared on Instagram via NSWTV, the Nigerian singer real name Damini Ogulu explained that the title comes from deeply personal experiences. Without revealing full details, he shared that despite having “the most reasons not to exist anymore,” he has consistently shown strength and resilience.
“I’ve had every reason to give up, but I’ve shown no sign of weakness,” Burna said. “That’s the message of this album and it’s what I hope those coming after me will embody too.”
No Sign of Weakness marks Burna Boy’s eighth studio album and will be released under Atlantic Records, Spaceship, and Bad Habit. Last month, he teased fans with “Tatata,” a single from the project featuring American rapper Travis Scott.
Since breaking out with Like to Party in 2013, Burna Boy has delivered several acclaimed albums, including African Giant, Twice As Tall, and Love, Damini. He won a Grammy in 2021 for Twice As Tall in the Best World Music Album category, cementing his place as one of Nigeria’s most successful music exports.
