An explosion occurred on Monday afternoon, May 26, 2025, along the Mararaba-Nyanya bypass in Abuja, injuring one person and prompting a swift response from security agencies.
According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, the incident happened at approximately 2:50 PM. Officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit were immediately deployed to the scene. The affected area was cordoned off to ensure public safety and facilitate a thorough investigation.
Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh stated that one male victim was rescued at the scene and promptly taken to the hospital, where he is currently receiving medical attention. A comprehensive investigation, including detailed forensic analysis, has commenced to ascertain the exact cause and nature of the explosion.
