President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated the board of the reconstituted Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), appointing Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari as Group Chief Executive Officer and Ahmadu Musa Kida as Non-Executive Chairman.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the State House in Abuja, shortly before the President attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit at the Presidential Villa’s Banquet Hall.
The newly formed 11-member board reflects a strategic mix of regional representation and industry expertise. Appointees include Adedapo Segun and Bello Rabiu (North West), Yusuf Usman (North East), and Babs Omotowa, former NLNG Managing Director (North Central). Other members are Austin Avuru (South-South), David Ige (South-West), and Henry Obih (South-East).
Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, joins the board as the ministry’s representative, while Aminu Said Ahmed represents the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Present at the ceremony were key officials including Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; and Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri.
All appointments became effective on April 2, 2025.
