Nigerian musicians, Portable and Speed Darlington, are set to clash in a highly anticipated celebrity boxing match. The showdown is scheduled for April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, and promises to be an explosive event that has caught the attention of fans and social media users alike.
The rivalry between the two began in March after Speed Darlington, born in Imo State, invited Portable to perform at his upcoming show, offering a payment of ₦500,000. Portable, born Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, found the amount insulting and rejected the offer. The 31-year-old Zeh Nation boss went on to mock Darlington for being “poor” and made it clear that he charges ₦20 million per performance.
“You’re inviting me to a show, and you don’t have money,” Portable said. “You’re using my name to promote your show. I charge ₦20 million, ask around. I don’t want to be friends with poor people. I didn’t know you’re that poor.”
In response, Speed Darlington expressed regret for inviting Portable, accusing him of insulting his mother during the exchange. “Why did I bring myself low? Why did I contact Portable? I regret it because of the insults. Why did my mother get into the discussion?” he said.
The feud escalated when Portable challenged Darlington to a fight, boasting that he would defeat him just as he had done to actor Charles Okocha in a previous celebrity boxing match. “I want to fight you. We should both be put in a boxing ring. I will defeat you like I defeated Okocha,” Portable declared.
The match has now been confirmed, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the clash. The organizers, Mygamerush, took to Instagram to announce the fight, saying, “You asked, and now it is here. Two street kings battle for ultimate street supremacy.”
With the stage set and tensions high, the boxing match on April 18 is expected to be a thrilling contest, as the two feuding stars go head-to-head for street credibility and bragging rights.
