Plateau United boosted their survival hopes in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with a crucial 1-0 victory over Abia Warriors. The hard-fought win came in their latest league encounter, helping them climb out of the relegation zone as the season nears its final stages.

The only goal of the match was scored in the 65th minute by striker Ibrahim Mustapha, who capitalized on a defensive error by Abia Warriors to find the back of the net. His well-placed finish proved to be the difference in a tightly contested game, giving Plateau United the much-needed three points.

Head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu praised his players for their determination, highlighting the importance of securing wins in critical matches. He emphasized that every point counts at this stage of the season and urged his squad to remain focused on their remaining fixtures.

On the other hand, Abia Warriors find themselves in a tough position after this defeat. Their struggles continue as they battle to stay in the NPFL, and their coaching staff acknowledged the urgency of improving performances to avoid relegation.

With just a few matches left, both teams will be aiming for positive results, knowing that each game could determine their league status.
