The Federal Government has extended the application deadline for positions in the Federal Civil Service to March 17, 2025.

Initially announced by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) on January 27, 2025, the recruitment exercise offered over 70 positions across various ministries, departments, and agencies. However, many potential applicants raised concerns over difficulties accessing the recruitment portal, prompting widespread requests for an extension.

FCSC spokesperson Hassan Taiwo acknowledged that some applicants faced technical challenges but emphasized that many others were able to successfully complete their registration.

In an advertisement published in national newspapers and shared by Taiwo on Monday, the commission confirmed that the new deadline supersedes the previous one, originally set for March 10, 2025.

The announcement reads, “The Federal Civil Service Commission has extended the application deadline for various vacancies in the Federal Civil Service to Monday, March 17, 2025, to give more eligible candidates the opportunity to apply.”

This updated deadline replaces the previous one, which was announced on January 27, 2025, in national dailies and on the FCSC website (www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng).

Further details are available on the FCSC website, and the updated information has also been published in The Sun, The Nation (March 10, 2025), and Daily Trust (March 11, 2025).

The FCSC encourages qualified Nigerians to seize this extension and apply for the available positions, assuring applicants of a fair, merit-based, and transparent recruitment process.
