Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has sent a subtle message of support to Nigerian footballer Victor Boniface amid reports of the Bayer Leverkusen striker’s breakup with his Norwegian girlfriend, Rikke Hermine. The alleged split is said to have been triggered by disagreements over a prenuptial agreement.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the UFC fighter shared a post that appeared to align with Boniface’s decision to safeguard his finances. Adesanya wrote, “Happy Valentine’s Day xo Be kind stay dangerous” alongside a screenshot detailing the situation surrounding the Super Eagles star.
According to circulating reports, Hermine rejected the idea of signing a prenup, interpreting it as a lack of trust on Boniface’s part. This disagreement is believed to have led to their separation. Additionally, a Facebook post shared by Adesanya suggested that Boniface had legally transferred his assets to his mother’s name, though this claim remains unverified.
The scenario draws parallels with the case of Moroccan and Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi, who made headlines in 2023 when it was revealed that his wealth was registered under his mother’s name amid divorce proceedings.
Adesanya had previously expressed firm support for Hakimi’s financial strategy, stating on Instagram: “Very relatable… Imagine being so fu–en entitled that you think you deserve what a man has worked his whole life for. When you came into his life with nothing and tried to leave with millions. But like Achraf Hakimi, my assets are protected. I woulda taken half her s–t too but I don’t want half of NOTHING.”
His vocal backing of both footballers appears to stem from personal experience, as he previously faced legal action from his ex-girlfriend Charlotte Powdrell, who reportedly attempted to claim half of his assets despite them never being married.
So far, neither Boniface nor Hermine has issued an official statement regarding the alleged breakup or the prenup controversy.
