Former champions and South-South powerhouses, Delta Queens and Rivers Angels, are set to clash in a highly anticipated match-day four encounter of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League season. At the same time, reigning titleholders Edo Queens aim to extend their impressive form when they face Dannaz Ladies in Lagos on Wednesday, According to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Both teams enter this fixture with contrasting fortunes. Rivers Angels have enjoyed a strong start, securing two victories and a draw in their first three matches, while Delta Queens have struggled, managing only one win and suffering two defeats. With seven points, Rivers Angels currently share the top spot in Group B with Bayelsa Queens—who also have a game against Adamawa Queens today—though goal difference separates them. Meanwhile, Delta Queens find themselves in sixth place and will be eager to turn their season around with a much-needed victory.

Elsewhere, Group A leaders and reigning champions Edo Queens arrived in Lagos on Monday for their week-four showdown against Dannaz Ladies.

Under the leadership of Moses Aduku, the Benin-based team is in high spirits following their 1-1 draw against Remo Stars Ladies in Benin.

Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Desmond Enabulele, has rallied the team, urging them to maintain their winning mindset.

“I want you to go to Lagos and conquer. Keep that winning mentality on, we have confidence in you girls. Go there and do us proud again. I like to inform you that all logistics needed for you to do well have been provided. We are behind you and will continue to motivate you. It will be our joy to see Edo Queens players playing top flight football in various clubs in Europe.”

After their fixture in Lagos, Edo Queens will return home to face Nasarawa Amazons FC of Lafia.
