Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has disbanded the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, excluded two members of the cabinet—Dr. Kayode Ajulo, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, Commissioner for Finance—due to the essential nature of their roles.
According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the officials affected by the dissolution were instructed to return all government assets in their possession to the accounting officers of their respective ministries.
The statement read: “Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State, has authorized the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.
“Nonetheless, two cabinet members have been retained because of the critical importance of their responsibilities. These are Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, Commissioner for Finance.
“All officials impacted by this decision are required to hand over government properties in their care to the accounting officers of their ministries.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation for the contributions of the outgoing cabinet members to the state’s progress and wished them success in their future endeavors.
