Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has openly shared his deep desire to clinch the Premier League title this season, emphasizing that it takes precedence over his aspirations for the Champions League.
In an interview with TNT Sports, as shared by sports journalist Fabrizio Romano on X, Salah said, “Winning the Premier League is my biggest goal this year. It means more to me than the Champions League. As a team, that’s our focus and ambition.”
The Egyptian international also delved into his outlook on being regarded as the best player in the world, offering his personal perspective.
“Being the best? It’s subjective—people have their own opinions,” Salah remarked. “But for me, I always consider myself the best, and my focus is on delivering the best for my team.”
Salah had high praise for Liverpool manager Arne Slot, commending his leadership and tactical expertise.
“Before working with Arne Slot, I didn’t realize just how exceptional he is,” Salah admitted. “But now, having worked with him, I’m not surprised. He’s meticulous with details, quick to admit mistakes without ego, and brilliant when it comes to tactics.”
When asked about his choice to vote for Vinicius Jr. as the top player in the world, Salah explained his reasoning.
“Vinicius Jr is an incredible talent,” Salah said. “He’s been improving steadily each year, and I hope he keeps it up. I chose him because I genuinely believe he deserves the recognition.”
Finally, Salah shared the identity of his football idol, pointing to legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo Nazario as his inspiration.
“My idol? That’s Ronaldo Nazario,” he revealed, crediting the iconic forward as a major influence on his career.
