In an unexpected twist, Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman has claimed the prestigious CAF Player of the Year award, silencing critics from Ghana, Morocco, and South Africa who doubted Nigeria’s chances.

The rivalry between these nations has long fueled claims that Nigeria could never rise to the top, but Lookman’s exceptional performance throughout the year has shattered that narrative. Despite not being top contenders for the award themselves, critics from these countries cast doubt on Nigeria’s ability to produce a winner.

However, Lookman’s stellar displays in international and club football proved them wrong. From his key role in Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign to his exceptional contributions in European competitions, his consistency and brilliance left no room for debate.

This victory not only highlights Lookman’s incredible talent but also reinforces Nigeria’s standing in African football. As Nigeria celebrates this remarkable achievement, Lookman’s win serves as a clear message to all rivals: Nigeria’s footballing excellence cannot be denied.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
