Emirates Airlines has expanded its order for Boeing 777 Freighters by adding five more to its previous commitment of 11, increasing the total number of aircraft set for delivery by the end of 2026 to 14.

Additionally, the airline has signed a multi-year lease extension with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise for four Boeing 777Fs already in its fleet. This information was disclosed in a statement on the airline’s website on Monday. With these investments, Emirates anticipates operating a fleet of 21 production-built Boeing 777 freighters by December 2026.

Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines, noted that the airline’s decision to invest in additional aircraft was driven by the increasing demand from its passengers.

“We are acquiring new freighter aircraft to accommodate rising demand and offer our global customers enhanced flexibility, connectivity, and options to capitalize on market opportunities,” he stated.

The airline’s statement emphasized the booming demand for Emirates’ air cargo services, highlighting Dubai’s growing status as a trusted global logistics hub. It also pointed out the effectiveness of Emirates SkyCargo’s tailored solutions that meet the diverse needs of shippers across various industry sectors.

In the same statement, Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stephanie Pope remarked, “Emirates is leading the way in our industry, and we greatly value the trust they have in the Boeing wide-body family to support their global fleet.”

She added, “We take pride in aiding Emirates SkyCargo’s expansion as it depends on the performance and versatility of our 777 Freighter to enhance global connectivity.”

Recently, Emirates was recognized as the ‘World’s Best Airline’ in a comprehensive survey conducted by Telegraph Travel, surpassing 90 other international carriers. This study evaluated airlines based on 30 different criteria, including punctuality, baggage policies, fleet age, in-flight meals, route networks, and rewards programs.

According to Telegraph Travel, Emirates secured its top position based on data from over 18 independent awards, rating platforms, reader polls, and expert assessments.
