Black Bulls Maputo are excited about the opportunity to host Enyimba in their CAF Confederation Group D match set for December 15 at Campo da ABB in Matola, Zimbabwe, as reported by PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Mozambican club expressed their enthusiasm in response to a post on Enyimba’s official Facebook page, highlighting their placement in the group alongside Zamalek SC, Al Masry, and Black Bulls.
“It’s a privilege to be part of this group stage with such well-known teams. We eagerly await your arrival in Mozambique and look forward to enjoying every match. See you soon!” wrote the Maputo-based club, which clinched their first Moçambola title in 2021, just four years after their establishment.
Their impressive performances in earlier rounds provide the Mozambicans with the confidence needed to challenge their esteemed group rivals.
After a commanding 11-0 aggregate victory in the First Preliminary Round in August, they advanced to the group stage after a tense 2-2 aggregate draw against Otôho d’Oyo, progressing on away goals.
The group stage this year features several former champions, including USM Alger, Zamalek SC, and RS Berkane, all gearing up for a tough competition.
Group B includes former champions RS Berkane from Morocco, who will face off against Mali’s Stade Malien, CD Lundal Sul, and South African newcomers Stellenbosch.
In Group C, former champions USM Alger from Algeria will compete against ASEC Mimosas, ASC Jaraaf, and Orapa United.
Group A is being dubbed the “Group of Death,” showcasing formidable teams like Tanzania’s Simba SC, Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien, and Algerian giants CS Constantine.
The group stage begins in November, setting the stage for some of Africa’s top clubs to vie for glory in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
