Ahead of the local government election in Benue State on October 5, Governor Hyacinth Alia has declared Friday, October 4, a work-free day. This decision aims to facilitate the electorate’s travel to their respective local government areas to cast their votes.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor emphasized the importance of active participation in the electoral process. He encouraged citizens to take advantage of this day to fulfill their civic duty.
Governor Alia expressed confidence that with the right commitment and participation, the elections would be conducted smoothly and fairly. He also urged both public and private sector organizations to support this initiative by allowing their employees to participate.
Furthermore, he called on citizens to prioritize peaceful conduct and collaboration during the elections, stressing the need for unity and cooperation among all parties involved.
