Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, appeared today before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions to testify in the bribery allegations against Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, involving officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Haliru Nababa, controller-general of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
The committee’s hearing is investigating the allegations against the EFCC and NCoS, following Bobrisky’s release from prison on August 5, after serving a six-month sentence for abusing the naira.
VeryDarkMan’s testimony comes after he released an audio recording claiming that Bobrisky bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop money laundering charges.
Representing the EFCC is Michael Nzekwe, chief of staff to chairman Ola Olukoyode, while Haliru Nababa is also present. Bobrisky’s lawyer, Avwerosuoghene Omuvwie, is in attendance, but Bobrisky is yet to arrive.
The audio recording released alleged that Bobrisky revealed her godfather and Nababa ensured she served her sentence in a private apartment instead of prison.
