Social media influencer, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, met with Nigeria’s Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Thursday amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his viral audio recording.
Recall that on Tuesday an audio was released and the recording alleged that crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, bribed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives with N15 million to drop money laundering charges.
VeryDarkMan took to Facebook to express his delight over the suspension of some prison officers, praising Minister Tunji-Ojo for taking swift action.
He said, “The honorable minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, you have proven yourself to me before, so I was just relaxed watching and boom, you did it again with the suspension of some officers that might be involved with this whole Bobrisky saga.”
The Nigerian government suspended four senior NCoS officers in response to the allegations against them for collecting bribe. The officers suspended include, Michael Anugwa, Sikiru Adekunle, Ogbule Samuel Obinna, and Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu. Minister Tunji-Ojo ordered an immediate investigation into the allegations, reaffirming the government’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption.
The controversy has stirred different reactions from various parties, including human rights lawyer Femi Falana, who denied involvement in Bobrisky’s case. VeryDarkMan clarified that he never intended to defame Falana and expressed his desire for a thorough investigation.
