Nigerian rapper and singer, Folarin Falana aka, Falz has taken legal action against blogger Martins Otse popularly known as Verydarkman, alleging defamation.
The lawsuit stems from Verydarkman’s claims that Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, received payment to secure favorable prison conditions for socialite Bobrisky.
Bobrisky was arrested on April 3, 2024, for naira abuse and released on August 5, 2024.
Falz denies the allegations, stating he only offered advice to Bobrisky.
The lawsuit demands include, retraction of Verydarkman’s statement within 24 hours, a public apology and also compensation for damages.
In a statement Falz clearly said “I am committed to clearing my name and protecting my reputation. These baseless allegations will not be tolerated.”
As of now Verydarkman is yet to respond to lawsuit. The Bobrisky’s prison case has spark ongoing controversy. It has caused a lot of buzz on the social media platform .
