Nigerian social media sensation, Bobrisky, has denied allegations of bribing Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officers with N15 million to drop money laundering charges.
A viral audio recording released by a social media influencer, Martins Otse, popularly know as VeryDarkman alleged that Bobrisky made the payment of 15 million to unknown EFCC officials.
In reaction to the viral audio, the EFCC on Tuesday released a statement to carry out an investigation regarding the matter, following a directive from its Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.
Bobrisky denied the allegation on his Instagram page, calling the recording fake. According to him, he served his jail term and didn’t pay any bribe.
He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”
