Nigerian singer Portable has publicly apologized and asked for forgiveness after attacking a Pastor who was preaching close to his bar in Sango Ota axis of Ogun state.
The incident attracted negative reactions, particularly from Christian ministers who condemned it as an attack on the Christian community.
Initially, the singer defended his actions stating that he was unaware the person he assaulted was a pastor. Portable took his apology further by hosting a ministration at his bar where he tearfully begged for forgiveness from all pastors.
In a video circulating online, Portable is seen overcome with emotion, saying Forgive me in Yoruba. A pastor also apologized on Portable’s behalf, asking other pastors to see him as their son .
Portable’s apology comes a year after he trended online for the wrong reasons and fans are hoping this marks a turning point.
