On Monday, Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu wished Brigadier General Buba Marwa (retd.), the head of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, a happy 71st birthday.

A statement signed on Monday by Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Special Advisor to Sanwo-Olu on Media and Publicity, expressed the governor’s wishes.

According to Sanwo-Olu, Marwa made his fair share of contributions to the expansion and advancement of Lagos State.

Sanwo-Olu praised Marwa, one of his predecessors, calling him “An epitome of dedication, selflessness, and discipline in public service” as he listed his virtues.

He also praised the former Lagos State Military Administrator for his efforts in addressing the state’s transportation issues in light of the state’s steadily growing population.

The statement read, “Governor Sanwo-Olu praises the administrative prowess, loyalty, and commitment of Gen. Marwa to the Nigerian project, describing him as an epitome of dedication, selflessness, and discipline in public service.

“The Governor remembers with fondness how the former military administrator of Lagos State tackled the transportation challenge during his tenure and his efforts at bridging the housing deficit that reared its ugly head as a result of the ever-increasing population density of the State.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu, on behalf of his family, the Government and the people of Lagos State, wishes the former Military Administrator of Lagos, Brig. General Buba Marwa (retd.) a happy birthday, long life and sound health for him to contribute more towards nation building.”
