The Nigerian military debunks reports of terrorists abducting 150 people and killing many others in Sokoto State.
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) described these claims as fabrications and propaganda by terrorists aimed at creating fear and confusion among Nigerians.

According to a statement released by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, the incident which was depicted in a trending video showing a mass killing and burial did not occur in Nigeria but in a nearby African country battling terrorism.

General Buba also explained in the statement that troops of Operation Hadarin Daji deployed in Zamfara State had embarked on a fighting patrol to dislodge terrorists gathering at Kwashabawa Village.
During the operation, two troops’ MRAPs got bogged down due to the swampy terrain, and efforts to recover them were futile. The troops demobilized the vehicles to prevent them from being useful to the terrorists.

General Buba advised Nigerians to be cautious of the antics of terrorists who propagate misinformation, disinformation, and fake news as part of their war propaganda efforts.
