A fire that broke out early on Monday morning apparently destroyed the Katsina State Government House.
It was still unknown what started the fire, though.
PUNCH Online in Katsina was informed by a source, Alhaji Bashir, whose home is near the Government House, that the fire broke out at approximately six in the morning.
He said, “I saw a fire service truck rushing in. I was in my house as early as 6 am after prayers, a fire service truck rushed into the Government House, and I later learnt there was an inferno inside the red chamber where Governor Dikko used to host guests”.
Ibrahim l Mohammed, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, did not pick up Punch correspondent’s calls, so our attempts to speak with him were unsuccessful.
