Mr. Taofeeq Sokunbi has assumed the position of the new Sector Commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun State. This appointment was confirmed in a Thursday statement from Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi, the command’s public relations officer, based in Osogbo. Sokunbi succeeds Mr. Inyang Umoh, who has been transferred to Rivers State, as reported by the Daily Post.

A veteran in administration, Sokunbi has been with the FRSC since 1996, serving in numerous capacities across the nation, including stints in the Ogoja and Jigawa Commands.

Mrs. Ogungbemi called on FRSC officers in Osun State to provide their full support to the new sector commander in meeting the command’s goals.

The statement also highlighted Sokunbi’s previous roles, including his time as the Staff Zonal Data Centre officer in Lokoja and Ilorin, before his posting to the ABA Information Processing Centre (IPC).

Born on July 22, 1970, in Ebute Metta, Lagos State, Sokunbi is the son of High Chief Kolawole and Madam Funmilayo Sokunbi. His roots trace back to the Abeokuta South Local Government Area in Ogun State. He began his education at Shiloh Primary School and later attended Vetland Grammar School in Agege, Lagos State.

Mrs. Ogungbemi further noted that the new Sector Commander earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Joseph Ayo-Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.
