The personal assistant to a popular Ondo State caterer, Debbi Olakunbi Adene, has confessed to murdering his boss few days after her 54th birthday celebration.
Police sources revealed that the reason behind the killing was to get their hands on the money sprayed on the victim during her birthday party.
The 54-year-old caterer’s body was found lifeless in Akure at her home by neighbors, who informed the caretaker.
The victims husband, Dele Adene, expressed his frustration over the delay in arresting the killer. However, police detectives have now arrested the personal assistant, who is providing useful information about the circumstances surrounding the murder.
During an interview, Mr Dele Adene said,” I was told that my wife’scorpse was found on her bed in a pool of blood, showing she washacked to death. I cannot believe that no arrests have been made up tillthe moment of talking to you. I feel the suspects should have beenarrested. Her phone should be tracked. I don’t know how dwellers inthe building did not know such thing happened in a house with fourflats apartment.”
The driver, who is still on the run, allegedly provided the weapon used to kill the victim. The police have confirmed that one suspect is in custody in connection with the murder.
The victim who is a mother of two, had entertained guests at her residence and posted photos on social media before her death. The case is ongoing, with efforts to capture the driver and uncover more details about the crime.
