Chelsea have abandoned their pursuit of Napoli’s star player Victor Osimhen, shifting their attention to Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion instead.
For several weeks, the Blues were in close negotiations with Napoli, exploring a potential swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and a substantial cash payment. However, the discussions were complex and slow-moving, causing unease in Naples.
Despite the Osimhen situation, Napoli remains keen on acquiring Lukaku to satisfy their new coach, Antonio Conte. However, they need to offload the Nigerian striker before they can invest in a new centre forward.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Chelsea have completely redirected their focus from Osimhen to Omorodion and are now pushing to finalize a deal for the Atletico Madrid player.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain remains in contention for Osimhen, and Arsenal might re-enter the competition as well. There is also interest from Saudi Arabia, though the 25-year-old striker is hesitant about this option.
