Ifeanyi Ubah, the senator from Anambra South who served in the National Assembly, has passed away.
According to reports, Ubah, the CEO of Capital Oil, passed away on Saturday in a hotel in London, United Kingdom. On September 3, he would have turned 53.
Yemi Adaramodu, the spokesperson for the Senate, informed Punch correspondent on Saturday that Ubah had passed away.
He said, “It’s confirmed, but I am sending an official statement soon.”
The previous year, Ubah withdrew to join the All Progressive Congress and was re-elected to the 10th Senate under the banner of the Young Peoples Party.
Ubah escaped assassination in September 2022 after he was ambushed by gunmen while traveling to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State.
At least five people, including two police officers, were killed when shots were fired at his convoy.
He was able to survive because the car he was riding in was bulletproof.
