UNN 100 Level Student Found Dead in Drainage

A student of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, Favour Okenyi’s body, was found dead in a drainage on the university’s campus.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by Okwun Omeaku, the acting Public Relations Officer of the university,
A correspondent from The Punch reports that the student who was from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science went missing after attending a chemistry practical.
Favour Okenyi’s body was found close to one of the male hostel, around the varsity’s stadium junction, on Friday evening.
According to the acting officer of public relations in the University ,the incident was shocking and he condoled with the family of the deceased and added that the university authority was working with operatives to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
He said, “The university community was shocked on Friday, July 5, by the distressing discovery of a lifeless body found in a drainage near the Akanu Ibiam Stadium, UNN.
“The university administration is deeply saddened by the loss of our student and extends heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased for the tragic death of such a promising young student.
“The management is collaborating with security agencies and the family of the deceased to uncover the circumstances surrounding her death and to prevent any potential recurrence of such incidents in the future,” he added.
He concluded by saying,“The circumstances surrounding the death are currently under investigation that will aid investigations and fish out perpetrator/s of the evil act.”
