Northern India Religious Event Stampede Leads to the Death Of Many

On Tuesday,  Local police reported that at least 87 people have lost their lives in a stampede during a religious event in Uttar Pradesh, northern India.

 According to Arise officials the sad event took place at a satsang, a prayer meeting, in Mughal Garhi village, Hathras district, Uttar Pradesh,this village is about 200 kilometres (124 Police in Hathras district confirmed that at least 60 individuals have died.

The Police in Hathras district confirmed that at least 60 individuals have died.

An additional 27 people were said to have died after being taken to the  hospital in the nearby Etah district, per police and health officials.

 Manish Chikara, Hathras district police spokesperson said “The death toll might increase. Victims are being taken to hospitals in both Hathras district and the neighbouring Etah district,”.

Photo shows  crowds gathered outside an Etah hospital, alongside grieving relatives. Medical staff were seen transporting people on stretchers.
