The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has taken swift action by ordering the arrest of two EFCC officers involved in the brutal assault of a female hotel worker in Lagos. This directive comes after a disturbing viral video showed the officers manhandling the worker during a raid in Annex and Regional hotels in Isashi, Ojo, Lagos.
The shocking video footage showed EFCC operatives breaking into rooms, assaulting guests and workers, and stealing valuables. The hotel staff alleged that the officials broke into rooms, assaulted guests and workers, and took away ATM cards, money, and phones. The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspects arrested during the operation were still being profiled. Dele Olukoyede ordered a thorough investigation into the incident and assured that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against any culpable officer.
