In the Lugbe neighborhood of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, the well-known Trademore Estate has been submerged due to significant flooding caused by an early Monday morning downpour.
Two persons were reportedly carried away by the flood, according to unverified accounts.
The extended downpour severely damaged a great deal of property and left hundreds of people homeless in the estate’s gate area.
An anonymous woman narrated in a video that went viral on Monday morning, showing the estate almost entirely soaked with some properties visible outside of residences in the rain.
The female voice was heard screaming in the background of the video, saying “This is Trademore Estate, federal government we are pleading, two persons just died now, the water took them away. Two persons swept away by this water, please we are begging. FCT minister come and do something, we are appealing.
The unidentified woman continued saying ““See the Police Station is gone. These are people’s residences, and water is everywhere. Minister of FCT, Honourable Wike, please come to Trademore Estate, people are dying. Two people just died this morning, what a pity.”
