The 2023 Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi who attracted alot of supporters during the election period sent his condolences to the family of veteran actor.
John Odonwodo, popularly know as Junior pope who died along side others on April 10, 2024 in when their boat capsized in the river Naija while returning from a movie shoot. The actor died leave behind his wife and three sons.
The burial of the late actor which took place on Friday, May 17, at Saint Peter’s Catholic Parish,Ukehe, Enugu State. His final burial rites began on Friday morning with an episcopal burial mass held in St Peters Catholic Church in Ukehe.
Peter Obi shared a post on his X handle on Saturday, May 18 where he wrote that he was in Enugu State to pay his last respect to Junior Pope.
He wrote: ” After my engagement in Kenya yesterday, I arrived in Enugu State this morning to pay my last respect to the late Nollywood Star, John Obumneme Odonwodo, Junior Pope, in his hometown, Ukehe,and also to personally and sincerely condole with his family”.
This shows that Peter Obi went as far as creating time to visit the late actors family in Enugu State even when he had other engagements to attend to.
The family members, celebrities and other attendees who were present at Junior Pope’s burial shared special moments that they had with the late actor and they expressed their heartbreak on hearing about his death and they never wished to bid him farewell this soon.
Alot of people replied to the post made by Peter Obi on Saturday praising him on being such a selfless person by even going as far as visiting the home of the late actor to pay condolences to his family. Others went on to say they want to be like him.
