Kenneth Okonkwo has suspended his involvement with the party’s National Working Committee led by Julius Abure over corruption.

Okonkwo who was a top supporter of Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election revealed this on Tuesday, in a post on his X handle stating his reasons for taking this action.

He states that for him, a new Nigeria is a priority to him, and he prefers to lose doing the right thing than to win doing the wrong thing.

He wrote,” I am suspending my relationship in all ramifications with the purported Abure – led National Working Committee (NWO) of the Labour Party.”

” For me, it’s either a new Nigeria or nothing. I prefer to lose doing the right thing than to win doing the wrong thing”.

“Nothing can wash out the criminality, corruption, and incompetence with which the purported National convention was purportedly organized by Abure”.

Kenneth Okonkwo, who was the spokesperson for the Labour Party Obi-Datti presidential campaign council in the 2023 election relates the current leadership under Abure to the corruption and incompetence he observed in the All Progressive Congress ( APC)  from which he previously left.

The post read,” I did not leave the comfort of a ruling party, APC, because I believe that they are incompetent and dishonest, only to come and join another incompetent and corrupt association which is the current Abure-led National Working Committee of Labour Party.

He emphasized the fact that the Abure-led faction of the NWO is full of corruption and he cannot be part of it thereby leading him to suspend his relationship with the NWO regardless of how he has been supportive of the Labour Party in the previous election.
