Arsenal Football Club has unveiled a significant change for their women’s team, set to take effect next season. Due to a remarkable surge in interest, the Emirates Stadium will serve as the primary venue for the team’s home games. In the forthcoming 2024/25 campaign, the Emirates will host 11 matches, comprising eight Women’s Super League (WSL) games and potentially three Champions League fixtures, should the team qualify for the group stages. Additionally, any home legs in the Champions League knockout ties will also be held at the Emirates. The remainder of the fixtures, including domestic cup matches, will continue to be played at Arsenal’s Meadow Park ground.

This decision follows the success of six WSL games held at the Emirates this season, which drew an average crowd of over 52,000. This figure includes two sold-out matches and the breaking of three WSL attendance records. Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal’s chief executive, expressed excitement about the growing support for the women’s team, highlighting the recent surge in attendance at Emirates Stadium. He emphasized the club’s commitment to providing more fans with the opportunity to watch Arsenal Women play.

Jonas Eidevall, the head coach of Arsenal Women, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the special bond between the team and its supporters. He expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of playing in front of larger crowds at the Emirates Stadium every week, acknowledging the fans’ pivotal role in driving the team’s success.
