A journalist from Abubakar Rimi Television based at the Kano State Government House narrowly avoided a dangerous situation on Friday evening when hit by a stray bullet around 6:30 pm. The source of the bullet remains unknown as of Saturday morning, with both security personnel and Government House officials withholding details.

The journalist, Nazir Ya’u, received immediate medical attention at the Government House clinic. Medical staff noted Ya’u’s luck, as the bullet didn’t strike him at close range.

Police officers at the Government House launched an investigation into the incident.

As of the report’s compilation, neither the Kano Government House nor the State Police Command had issued an official statement.

Efforts to reach Sanusi Tofa, the Director General of Media and Publicity, were unsuccessful.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Police Command, SP Haruna Abdullahi, mentioned that the incident hadn’t been reported to the command yet.
