Bauchi Governor Dismisses Five Commissioners

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has made changes to his cabinet, dismissing five of his commissioners.

In a press release sent to journalists on Tuesday, Mukhtar Gidado, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, explained that the reshuffle aims to rejuvenate governance and enhance service delivery for the people of Bauchi State.

The statement highlighted that five commissioners were removed as part of this move, underscoring the governor’s commitment to introducing fresh ideas and energy into the administration. The reshuffle is part of a broader effort to strengthen government operations and address emerging challenges efficiently.

The five commissioners who were let go include Jamila Dahiru, Commissioner for Education; Abdulhameed Bununu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs; Usman Danturaki, Commissioner for Information and Communication; Madugu Yalams, Commissioner for Agriculture; and Yakubu Ibrahim, Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.

Governor Bala Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and valuable contributions to the development of Bauchi State. He acknowledged their important role in advancing the administration’s key initiatives.

Additionally, the governor has submitted the names of five new individuals for security clearance and subsequent confirmation as commissioners by the state’s House of Assembly.

The nominees for the vacant positions include Babayo Tilde from Toro Local Government, Abdullahi Mohammed from Misau Local Government, Bala Lukshi from Dass Local Government, Usman Shehu from Shira Local Government, Iliyasu Gital from Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Titus Ketkukah from Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Babayo Gabarin from Darazo Local Government, and Lawal Rimin Zayam from Toro Local Government.

Gidado reiterated the governor’s unwavering dedication to fulfilling the promises of his administration, assuring the people of Bauchi that the government remains committed to bringing impactful development and improving the welfare of all residents.
