Graham Potter, the former Chelsea coach, recently reflected on his tenure at the club, taking responsibility for the team’s poor performance during his time in charge.
In a statement shared by Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Potter acknowledged that while the coach is often blamed when a team underperforms, the situation was more complex.
He conceded that attributing the team’s struggles entirely to his coaching was “not 100 per cent wrong, but it’s not 100 per cent right” either.
Potter was dismissed after just over six months in charge, having overseen 12 wins, eight draws, and 11 losses across all competitions. Chelsea had appointed him in September 2022, after parting ways with Thomas Tuchel.
The club paid around £21 million in compensation to Brighton for Potter and his staff, but despite signing a five-year contract, he was let go less than seven months later.
