The Lagos State Government has announced the extension of its flexible work initiative for an additional three months to mitigate the effects of the petrol subsidy removal. This decision was made by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to support workers during this challenging period.
The extension, which takes effect from September 4th to December 3rd, 2024, allows employees on grades 01 to 14 to work from home for two days a week, while those on grades 15 to 17 can work from home for one day a week.
This initiative was first introduced in February as a measure to alleviate the hardship caused by the fuel subsidy removal. The government has now prolonged it to ensure continued support for its workers.
All accounting officers have been directed to comply with this directive and ensure its widespread dissemination across the state’s workforce.
