Married female prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps who have been posted to states where their husbands do not reside are asked to request redeployment by the organization.
The plan revealed this on Monday in a post on X.com. The scheme said, “ATTENTION ALL 2024 BATCH ”B” STREAM II MARRIED FEMALE PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS.
“All married female Prospective Corps members (PCM’s) who are deployed to States where their husbands are not domiciled should report to the nearest NYSC Orientation Camp for their State of Deployment to be changed.
“They are to report during the period of registration at the Orientation Camps with copies of their marital and other relevant documents as evidence. Once the change is made, it will reflect on their dashboard for reprinting.”
The program was founded on May 22, 1973, in accordance with Decree No. 24, which declared that its purpose was to “properly encourage and develop common ties among the youths of Nigeria and the promotion of national unity.”
Graduates must not have been older than 30 upon graduation in order to be eligible.
People over 30 are granted a Certificate of Exemption, which is the same as a NYSC Discharge Certificate.
Corps members receive a certificate of good participation upon successfully completing the service year.
