Kelechi Iheanacho has finalized his move to Sevilla on a free transfer, as reported by PUNCH Sports Extra. The 27-year-old Nigerian striker has signed a two-year contract with the La Liga team, with an option for an additional year.

Iheanacho underwent his medical examination on Tuesday and completed the signing process on Wednesday, making him Sevilla’s fifth summer acquisition. His fellow Nigerian, Chidera Ejuke, as well as Peque, Saúl, and Lokonga, are among the new arrivals at the club.

Previously, Iheanacho spent several years at Leicester City, where he initially joined in 2017, having previously been on loan with the club’s youth system.

Over his tenure with the Premier League champions of the 2015-16 season, he accumulated 232 appearances across all competitions, scoring 61 goals and providing 34 assists up until the end of the 2023-24 season.

In European competitions, Iheanacho has made 19 appearances, including seven in the Champions League, 11 in the UEFA Europa League, and one in the Conference League. On the international stage, he has represented Nigeria in 55 senior matches, netting 19 goals.

His most notable achievement came in 2015 when he played a key role in Nigeria’s triumph at the U-17 World Cup in Chile, earning the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player.

Iheanacho’s arrival at Sevilla is intended to fill the gap left by En-Nesyri and replace Rafa Mir. Peque, another summer signing, will also be utilized as a forward, ensuring Sevilla’s attacking lineup is well-equipped even before August begins.
