EFCC Arrests 9 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested nine individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud in Abuja. The suspects were apprehended on Monday, July 29, 2024, in the Wuye area of Abuja, following an intelligence-led operation by the EFCC’s Abuja Zonal Directorate.

 

According to an EFCC statement, the suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence regarding their suspected involvement in internet-related fraud. During the operation, several items were recovered from the suspects, including:

 

– 19 phones

– One car

– Four laptops

– One iPad

 

The EFCC has indicated that it will pursue legal action against the suspects, stating that they will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
