Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has extended the tenure of Prof. Salisu Usman as Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, for a second term. A statement released on Monday by the institution’s Public Relations and Protocol Director, Olale Uredo, emphasized Governor Ododo’s decision, citing Prof. Usman’s outstanding performance during his initial term as justification for his continued leadership.

Prof. Usman expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for acknowledging his role in the institution’s progress. He also thanked former Governor Yahaya Bello for appointing him as acting rector initially, a position later confirmed in 2021. Prof. Usman extended appreciation to the Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, staff, and students for their steadfast support, which he credited for the transformative strides of the polytechnic.

Looking forward to his second term, Prof. Usman pledged to redouble his efforts in enhancing the institution’s stature and visibility. Under his guidance, the polytechnic has witnessed significant infrastructure development, improved security measures, and achieved full accreditation for long-pending programs. His tenure has been marked by administrative reforms, the restoration of discipline, and a steadfast commitment to quality assurance.

Prof. Usman reaffirmed his dedication to building upon these achievements and ensuring continued growth and excellence at Kogi State Polytechnic.
