In Borno State, the Nigerian Army has carried out successful operations to rescue seven women and nine children who were abducted by terrorists from their homes. These rescue missions were conducted in collaboration with the Vigilante and Hybrid Force, marking a coordinated effort against terrorism.

According to a statement published on X.com, the Army reported significant achievements from these operations, including the elimination of one terrorist and the recovery of arms and ammunition. The operations focused on areas like Pulka and Ashagashiya in Gwoza Local Government Area. During these engagements, troops engaged with terrorists, resulting in the neutralization of one attacker, while others fled, leaving behind various belongings.

The rescue efforts were particularly notable, with troops successfully liberating seven women and nine children from the grip of terrorists. Among the items recovered were a submachine gun, bicycles, blankets, cooking utensils, and assorted belongings, underscoring the disruptive impact of these operations on terrorist activities in the region.

Furthermore, separate ambush operations were conducted in the Komala area of Borno State, leading to the elimination of another terrorist and the seizure of additional weapons, including AK-47 rifles and ammunition.

In Benue State, the Army responded swiftly to intelligence reports regarding terrorist movements in Ayati Village, Ukum LGA. This operation resulted in the recovery of various weapons abandoned by fleeing terrorists, including AK-47 rifles, launchers, and ammunition rounds.

Additionally, in Kogi State, troops successfully intervened to prevent a ransom payment to kidnappers, engaging them in a firefight and neutralizing one kidnapper. They recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and a motorcycle during this operation.

These operations reflect the Nigerian Army’s proactive approach in combating terrorism and securing affected communities from insurgent threats across different regions of the country.
